is currently looking for 2 assistant painters on a full-time permanent position. The hourly wage rates from $26.00 to $35.00. The company is based in Otago Region, but you may have to travel outside of region for business purposes.
Job Duties you may need to perform routine tasks in repairing painting sites, erecting
structures and facilitating on painting site:
- · Have a good work ethic
- · Be a team player
- · Flexible with work timing
- · Have no criminal conviction and willing to do a drug test if required
- · Be punctual, reliable, a can-do attitude and a willingness to get the job done.
- · Physical fitness and a readiness to work outdoors on painting sites
- · Loading and unloading painting and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around painting sites
- · Erecting and dismantling temporary structures such as barricades and scaffolding
- · Mixing, pouring and spreading materials such as paint, plaster and mortar
- · Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
- · Smooth surfaces with sandpaper or sanding machines.
- · Apply primer coats under the direction of the lead painter.
- · Assist in applying paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- · Help in cleaning and maintaining brushes, rollers, and other painting tools.
- · Clean up work areas after painting is completed.
- · Properly dispose of paint waste and empty containers according to safety regulations.
- · Store paints and equipment safely and in an organized manner.
- · Perform basic maintenance and upkeep of painting equipment.
- · Cleaning and carrying out minor repairs on as required at the painting sites and checking for cracks on the painting surface
- · Assisting with assembling and installing painting equipment
- · Follow all safety procedures, including the use of protective gear (masks, gloves, etc.)
- · Assist the lead painter in preparing surfaces for painting (e.g., sanding, scraping, cleaning, or washing walls and other surfaces).
- · Mix paints, stains, and varnishes according to specified colours or instructions.
- · Set up painting equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and drop cloths before work begins.
- · Mask off areas not to be painted to protect surfaces and fixtures.
- · Load, move, and organize paint materials and tools at the worksite.
Qualification:
Level 1 qualification or above or 6 month experience
