Workshop Foreman - Heavy Equipment

About the role

This is a leadership position where you will proactively identify and manage the plant, staff, technical risks and guide management and operational staff in best practice relating to procurement, operation, maintenance and repair of mobile assets.

• Plan, organise and manage the planned maintenance schedules for the company’s plant assets and fleet of light and heavy vehicles.

• Manage the Workshop operations to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective delivery of repairs and upgrades.

• Oversee field breakdown repairs to mobile plant, including management of subcontractors.

• Remain current with legislative, best practice information and any changes that could impact road vehicle and heavy mobile equipment compliance.

• Ensure workshop staff are adequately trained 

• Make sure all staff are aware of, and conform to the company’s health, safety and environmental management systems

• Be available for flexible work hours, occasional weekend work and travel as required

About you:

• Trade qualifications with diesel and auto electrical engine knowledge 

• Experience in a similar technical management role with heavy equipment

• Understanding of operation and maintenance requirements

• Experience in training, directing and managing staff

• Ability to demonstrate and champion safe work practices

• Attention to detail with the ability to track and report on asset management planning and progress
