We are looking for a Service Station Store Manager to join our team in the Masterton region. This role requires someone who can manage the overall operations of a busy service station and retail store, ensuring smooth daily operations, profitability, and high service standards. An understanding of retail store supervisory work will be a great advantage. You will have a high level of control.

 

We are looking for a Service Station Store Manager to join our team in the Masterton region. This is a full-time permanent role, working a minimum of 32 hours per week for up to 42 hours per week. You will be rostered between the hours of 05:00AM to 11:00pm Monday to Sunday.

 Core Responsibilities

                     Manage the store independently and ensure the business meets profit targets

                     Introduce new products in demand, phase out old stock, and regularly review product mix

                     Maintain high service standards and continuously improve customer experience

                     Promote and advertise store goods and services

                     Oversee security of cash, keys, alarms, and stock

                     Set pricing for goods to maximize profitability

                     Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers

                     Manage stock levels, purchasing, discounting, clearance, and stock control systems

                     Monitor business income and expenses, with strong accounting and budgeting oversight

                     Handle banking, cash reconciliation, and petty cash

                     Maintain accurate business records and documentation

                     Implement purchasing, advertising, pricing, and marketing policies

                     Sell goods directly to customers, upsell and recommend products

                     Address and resolve customer complaints promptly

                     Ensure staff compliance with health, safety, and security requirements

                     Oversee cleaning, maintenance, and overall presentation of the site

 Requirements

                     Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory, managerial experience in either retail, hospitality, sales, corporate,  or other relevant role.

                     Experience in the retail/service station industry is desirable

                     Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

                     Strong knowledge of merchandising and store presentation

                     Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and some split shifts

                     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

                     Current driver’s license required

                     If needed candidates must work independently.

                     This job involves some cleaning activities.
