We are currently seeking reliable and full-time Plumbers to join our team. Starting pay offered from $30- $42 hourly will be fixed according to the skills and experience for 30-50 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per above payrate. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:

  • Interpreting plumbing plans and specifications to determine system layout, materials, and installation requirements, and confirming restricted tasks with the supervising full licence holder.
  • Carrying out technical plumbing work such as installing and repairing water supply, drainage, and heating pipes, fixtures, and fittings, with supervision only where legally required.
  • Assembling and installing valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made of metal and non-metal materials using appropriate trade techniques.
  • Performing skilled pipe work including measuring, cutting, bending, and threading pipes with hand and power tools.
  • Conducting leak testing on plumbing systems using air and water pressure gauges, under oversight where necessary.
  • Diagnosing and clearing blockages in pipes and drains, applying technical problem- solving skills and escalating only restricted work.
  • Installing and maintaining plumbing systems in bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, and outdoor areas, completing non-restricted plumbing work independently.
  • Ensuring all work meets New Zealand plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards, and following instructions from the supervising licensed plumber for restricted tasks.
  • Maintaining safe and tidy work areas, ensuring proper use and care of plumbing tools, equipment, and materials.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum two years’ relevant plumbing experience or a recognised plumbing qualification.
  • Experience with basic excavation related to plumbing installation is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and routine handling procedures.
  • Strong understanding of worksite health and safety requirements, including working around utilities and other trades.
  • Ability to read and follow basic plumbing and site plans, including pipe layout instructions.
  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments when required.
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings or occasional weekends depending on project needs.
  • Pre-employment drug test and police check required.
