Our Client in Penrose , Auckland is a green waste recycling company based in Penrose. We’re a small team that is dedicated to transforming greenwaste. We specialise in recycling difficult-to-process green waste streams such as palm, flax, and bamboo. The green waste we receive is recycled into mulch and compost that helps keep Auckland gardens growing.

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Machinery and Plant Operator to join our team at our Penrose site. This role is critical in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our recycling process. There is also responsibility for basic maintenance, repair, and optimisation of our equipment, as well as general yard duties. At times this is a physically demanding and dirty job – which operates outside in all weathers . You could be bagging compost or shovelling sludge, so you’ll need endurance and strength, and not shy away from getting dirty. We work alongside our sister site, HydroCycle, so there is a requirement for knowledge and skills that can be applied to both operations.

 Key Responsibilities:
 Safe and efficient machine operation, including excavator, loader, and hydro processing plant
 Perform regular maintenance and repair on machinery and equipment to ensure smooth
 operation
 General yard duties to ensure
 Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
 Continuously seek ways to improve machinery performance and process efficiency
 Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
 Qualifications:
 Minimum two years experience in operating machinery – diggers, and loaders.
 Minimum one year of experience in a water treatment plant.
 Minimum two years of mechanical maintenance, with experience in heavy diesel
 Valid NZ driver’s license.
 WRT license
 Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
 Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 Physically strong and fit – endurance is required for this role
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.

 Pay: $29.00 – $32.00 per hour
 Expected hours: No less than 35 per week , Maximum 40 Hours per week
