Carpenter

We are seeking a Carpenter to join our busy team in Hamilton. This is a full-time role (minimum of 30 hours a week, maximum 45 hours per week).

The Role

Day-to-day work may include, but not be limited to:

• Study the specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans

• Prepare the project layout and determine the dimensions

• Select and order timber and other materials

• Remove, repair or discard damaged or worn parts, equipment or materials

• Cut shapes/assemble pieces and fits timber parts to form structures and fittings

• Ensure that the prepared items are suitable for NZ conditions

• Ensure customers’ requirements are met

• Estimate the required materials

• Select and order materials and tools

• Follow established safety rules and regulations

• Any other related tasks may be assigned from time to time by the employer 

Our successful applicants will have:

• Works well under pressure 

• Diploma or above qualification in carpentry or at least 2 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the qualification.
