The position is for a Café/Bakery Manager in the bustling area of Taupo. The successful candidate will organise and control the food business operations.

While managing day-to-day operations, they must ensure that customers' experiences are exceptional, staff are managed effectively, and achieve financial and operational goals. The manager is key in maintaining product quality, promoting the café brand, and driving sales.

A degree in management or similar

Minimum 2 years of experience in a management role

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and financial

Reporting. Ideally, with knowledge of health and safety in a workplace but training will be given.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Café store operation

Compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards

Managing the opening and closing of the store, cash handling, cleanliness, and inventory

Coordinate with suppliers, arrange repairs and servicing of bakery equipment as needed

 

 

 

Team leadership

Manage and mentor staff, develop and manage staff schedules, and foster a supportive work environment

 

Product Quality and Presentation

Ensure and maintain the bakery's high standards

Work with the kitchen team and conduct regular quality checks on products and processes

Oversee proper food handling, packaging, and display of products

 

Customer Experience

Cultivate and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

Address customers' inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally and promptly

 

Sales and Marketing

Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and commit strategies to meet them

Work effectively with Business Owners with strategies for growth

 

Financial Management

Manage budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting to the Business Owners

Optimise operational costs without compromising quality or customer service

Approve payroll and staff hours

 

Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate

the business operations. Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of heavy goods.
