At Vietnamese Hot Food we offer Kiwi’s favourite takeaway foods such as fried chicken, hot dogs, lamb chops, pork belly, kebabs, fried noodles, fried rice etc. at night markets in Auckland (Kelston, Mt Wellington, Botany, Henderson, Papatoetoe and Pakuranga).    

We currently look for a hardworking and reliable Cook to join us. Working hours is between 30 and 36 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $27 to $30 per hour.

Your duties will include:

• Prepare ingredients (thaw frozen items, wash, clean, peel, cut, and chop vegetables, poultry, and meat etc.) 

• Weight and measure ingredients.

• Prepare sauces and marinate meats. 

• Cook menu items and accommodate customers’ requests.

• Portion and pack food items for serving. 

• Check stock level and quality, assist with ordering supplies.

• Check cooking equipment to ensure everything works well.

• Clean and sanitize food preparation area and cooking equipment.

• Assist with setting up and removing covers, equipment and tables at markets.   

• Remove rubbish at the end of each shift.

• Perform any other related duties.

Required skills and attributes:

• Must be available to work night shifts, weekends and public holidays. 

• Minimum 1 year (preferable 2 years) relevant work experience. 

• Be physically fit for heavy liftings and standing for extended periods.

• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Have strong multitasking and organizational skills.

• Be reliable and punctual, able to work independently as well as in a team.
