Technical Sales Consultant

Waikato Bearings are a leader in the supply of Bearings Seals Power transmission products Lubrication products and systems Mechatronics and other related engineering supplies.  

As an SKF Authorised Distributor we supply products to all types of industry large or small on the land underground at sea and in the air.

Some of the responsibilities include:  

• We require someone who has previous mechanical engineering or technical parts  experience in the bearing industry. 
• Customer service; processing of customer's enquiries & orders via phone email and counter sales. 
• Attention to detail with accurate record keeping and shelf stock management. 
• Developing customer relationships and providing premium service and account management which encourages repeat business. 
• Assisting with showroom displays and stock management. 
• Communication with customers and suppliers directly. 
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the workspace and adhering to workplace health and safety policies. 

To be successful in this role you will also have the following attributes:  

• Great mechanical engineering aptitude (A minimum of 3 years previous experience in the bearing industry is required!).
• A sound knowledge of basic bearing types and measuring of bearings.
• The ability to read technical drawings.
• Great communication skills with exceptional phone manner. 
• A great team player. 

The right candidate will also be able to resolve problems as they arise quickly and efficiently. 

• Competency with computers, Microsoft Office and web based systems. 
• Physically fit and healthy as the role can be fast paced. 
• Full NZ Driver's Licence. 
• Health and saftey conscious.
• Minimum 42.5 hrs per week.
• Salary range $75,000 - $85,000
