Good Painters Limited is looking for an experienced painter to join our team. We work across the Auckland region on residential and commercial projects and offer steady, ongoing work with great conditions.

About the Role

  • Permanent, full-time position: minimum 32 hours per week
  • Work within the Auckland region.
  • Weekly pay and competitive rates $30–$35/hr depending on experience

Key Duties

• Preparing surfaces by washing, sanding, filling holes, and repairing cracks
• Reviewing project requirements and carrying out assigned work efficiently
• Selecting, mixing, and applying paints, stains, and coatings
• Setting up ladders and basic scaffolding
• Masking and protecting surfaces using tape, drop cloths, and other coverings
• Applying primers, sealers, and finishing coats
• Using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
• Cutting and hanging wallpaper, vinyl, and backing paper
• Following safety procedures, worksite rules, and company policies
• Communicating with Project Leads to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintaining clean and tidy work habits
• Meeting deadlines and working unsupervised when required

 

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification of NZQA level 4, or bachelor degree in any fields can replace the requirement of relevant experience. 
• Proven experience in residential and commercial painting
• Strong knowledge of painting materials, tools, and application techniques
• Ability to work independently with a positive attitude

• Able to work flexible hours when required
• Honest, reliable, and committed to high-quality workmanship
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, rollers, spray guns, etc.)
• Physically fit with stamina and dexterity
• Ability to follow health and safety practices
• Own transport is required
• Site Safe card is an advantage (not essential)
• No drug or alcohol issues
