About the Role:

Being responsible for business, brand and communications strategy for Droga5 clients where appropriate with their strategic needs when required. The role will be focused on developing and maintaining brand strategy, marketing communications plans and developing agency briefs in line with achieving sales targets.

 

GOAL:  Working alongside the Chief Strategy Officer and broader team in steering client Marketing teams in strategy and implementation of their marketing plan.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy Department:

• Lead strategic development across brand, communications, and creative campaigns — delivering powerful, insight-driven platforms that drive business and brand impact.

• Stretch thinking into business strategy — identifying commercial opportunities, shaping positioning, and advising clients on broader growth, innovation, and transformation challenges.

• Act as a senior strategic partner to clients — building trusted relationships, challenging their thinking, and helping them navigate complexity with clarity and conviction. This includes attending briefing sessions, running workshops, spending time in their offices.

• Translate cultural, consumer, and category insights into sharp strategic perspectives and creative briefs that spark exceptional creative work. • Inspire and mentor junior strategists — setting the standard for strategic excellence, growing capability across the team, and fostering a culture of curiosity, rigour and creativity.

• Bring energy and ambition to every challenge — actively contributing to new business, pitching, and expanding strategic scopes with existing clients

• Craft compelling award entries (e.g. Effies, Marketing Awards) that clearly articulate the strategic thinking, creative impact, and business results behind our work.

 

Reports into Chief Strategy Officer

Collaborating with the rest of the Agency & Partners:

• Work closely with creative teams from the start — helping shape the idea, providing strategic clarity and inspiration, and staying close through the process to bring powerful, original work to life.

• Collaborate seamlessly with agency and external partners — from media to digital, design to PR — to ensure integrated thinking and a shared vision that delivers bigger, more connected outcomes

 

 

Location: Auckland

Salary range: NZD $150,000 – NZD $160,000

Standard Working hours: 37.5 hours/week
