The Raspberry Cafe are currently looking for 1 Baker position to join our team in Canterbury Region, New Zealand.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  •  Preparing, mixing and baking bread, cakes, pastries and other baked goods according to recipes and specifications
  •  Prepare icings, glazes according to recipes and decorate baked goods appropriately with a strong emphasis on visual appeal and artistic presentation.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times and product appearance to ensure consistent quality and standards.
  • Operate baking machinery and equipment, including dough rollers, moulders, mixers and biscuit cutters.
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies ensuring the freshness and quality of all products.
  • Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
  •  Prepare food items to accommodate special dietary requirements ensuring all customer needs are met.
  • Store and organise food items efficiently ensuring proper dating and assisting in controlling wastage.
  • Clean, empty and grease baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment to ensure readiness for production.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen and other staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Assist in planning and developing new menu items contributing creative ideas to pastry offerings.
  • Perform any additional duties as requested by the Director or Cafe Manager

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Be Honest and Reliable
  • Ability to work on Weekends and rostered shifts
  •  Be punctual
  • Be Drug free
  • Clean Criminal History
  • Must be clean and tidy
  • Ability to commute to work with reliable travel as the business operates 7 days a week.

 

Experience or Qualification:-

  • Relevant level 4 qualification OR 2 Years Relevant work experience in hospitality industry is required.

 

Hours and Position:

This is a full time permanent position with minimum 30 hours +per week.
