Sawaddee Massage Limited is a local Thai Massage business in Nelson. We are looking for experienced Thai Massage Therapists to join our team.

Requirements 

• At least 2 years of experience working in an authentic Thai Massage business, OR

• A related qualification (at NZ Register Certificate level 4 or higher, overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification), OR

• The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Traditional Thai Massage) from Thailand

Job Descriptions

Client Assessment & Treatment Planning

  • Assess clients’ physical condition, symptoms, and relevant medical history to determine appropriate massage treatment options.

  • Identify muscular tension, soft-tissue issues, and areas requiring therapeutic focus, and develop tailored treatment plans.

Therapeutic Massage Delivery

  • Provide massage treatments aimed at promoting relaxation, improving circulation, alleviating muscular tension, and supporting rehabilitation.

  • Apply traditional Thai massage techniques, including assisted stretching, pressure point work, rhythmic compression, and joint mobilisation.

Soft-Tissue Therapy & Rehabilitation Support

  • Target muscles, tendons, and ligaments to relieve discomfort and improve functional movement.

  • Offer post-treatment advice on stretching, relaxation techniques, and home-care routines to support ongoing recovery.

Use of Complementary Therapies

  • Incorporate complementary therapeutic tools such as herbal or mineral compresses, essential oils, balms, heat therapy, and infrared treatments to enhance treatment outcomes.

  • Recommend supportive treatments that may assist clients’ wellbeing and recovery process.

Client Care, Hygiene & Professional Standards

  • Maintain accurate client records, including assessments, treatment notes, and follow-up recommendations.

  • Adhere to professional hygiene, health, and safety standards within the clinic environment.

  • Provide a calm, respectful, and supportive atmosphere for all clients.

Other detail 

• This is a full-time and permanent position

•Wage payment is between $28 and $35 per hour, depending on your skills and experience, and you will be paid weekly

• Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law

• You will be working at 233 Queen Street, Richmond, Nelson

•You will be working between 9:30 am and 7:00 pm according to a roster, 5–6 days each week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 48 hours per week.
