We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team in the Queenstown/Otago region. The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of residential and commercial carpentry tasks, with additional duties including tiling and concrete formwork as required. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term stability and opportunities for skill development within a supportive construction team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, cladding, roofing, internal linings, fix-out, and finishing.
  • Construct, install, and repair structures, frameworks, and fixtures in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Complete tiling tasks such as surface preparation, tile cutting, installation, grouting, and sealing when required.
  • Carry out concrete formwork duties, including setting out, constructing, and dismantling formwork systems.
  • Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, plans, and job specifications accurately.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Operate company vehicles and transport materials/equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite at all times.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant carpentry experience.
  • Proficiency in general carpentry, with experience or willingness to undertake tiling and concrete formwork tasks as needed.
  • Strong understanding of the NZ building code, construction methods, and site safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Full New Zealand Class 2 driver’s licence or equivalent.
