This role designs and delivers water infrastructure, including drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems. The engineer assesses network needs, develops technical designs, prepares reports and ensures projects meet safety, environmental and regulatory standards. Assist in managing projects from early planning to construction, working closely with councils, contractors and other engineering teams. The role ensures water systems are safe, reliable and sustainable for communities across New Zealand.

Your Role
As a senior member of our water infrastructure team, you’ll bring deep technical expertise and a proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects. Key will be your hands-on experience in the design, planning, and delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, working across public and private sector clients.
You’ll also:
- Lead and deliver projects from concept to construction
- Develop and review technical designs, reports, and models
- Collaborate closely with clients, councils, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers
- Act as a trusted advisor and contribute to strategic decision-making
- Ensure projects meet regulatory standards and sustainability objectives
What You Bring
We’re looking for a confident and capable engineer who combines technical strength with a collaborative mindset. You’re someone who thrives in complex water projects and enjoys sharing knowledge, solving problems, and building trusted relationships.
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 8+ years’ local experience in water infrastructure (three waters)
- CPEng registration or working towards it
- Experience managing complex water or infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and client engagement skills
- A passion for delivering smart, sustainable solutions
