Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by stripping old paint and wallpaper, repairing damaged woodwork, filling cracks and holes, sanding, smoothing, and sealing surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paint, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using a variety of tools such as brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Ensure even coating and a professional finish on all surfaces.
- Mix and match paints to achieve the desired colour and consistency, using appropriate ratios of pigments, oils, and thinning or drying agents.
- Set up scaffolding and ladders safely. Use drop sheets and protective coverings to safeguard nearby areas and surfaces from paint splashes and spills.
- Hang wallpaper with precision, ensuring pattern alignment and clean trimming. May also be involved in laying and repairing wall and floor tiles as needed.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy. Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly to ensure proper function and longevity.
- May be required to carry out minor repairs such as fixing or replacing glass in wooden and metal window frames.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of two years' relevant experience.
- Ability to perform tasks independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit with a strong work ethic.
