Position Title: Canopy Maintenance Worker
Number of Positions: 10
Location: Katikati, Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $26 – $32 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • 6 Months of Experience OR Level 1 Qualification

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain orchard canopy structures and support systems.
  • Monitor canopy integrity and report damage or wear.
  • Ensure proper tensioning and alignment of canopy wires and frames.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
  • Implement pest and disease control measures under supervision.
  • Maintain orchard hygiene and safety standards.
  • Support irrigation and fertilization activities as required.
  • Record maintenance activities and report progress to supervisors.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets.

Key Requirements

  • 2 years of experience OR Level 4 Qualification

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily orchard operations and seasonal tasks.
  • Monitor plant health, irrigation, and pest/disease control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company protocols.
  • Train and guide orchard workers on best horticultural practices.
  • Plan and implement work programs for pruning, thinning, and harvesting.
  • Maintain accurate records of crop performance and operational activities.
  • Liaise with management to report progress and resolve operational issues.
  • Oversee use and maintenance of orchard machinery and equipment.
  • Manage workforce scheduling and task allocation for efficiency.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure high crop standards.
