Hoang Bach Limited based in Wellington, specialises in providing professional plastering & Painting service. We are looking for three painters to join our awesome team. 

You will be expected to mainly work at different sites in the Wellington and may also be directed to work out of Wellington throughout New Zealand. This job requires you to work a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to work on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $30-$33 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

  • Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and ladders, covering fixtures etc.

  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by removing old paint and wall paper, fixing holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing, etc.

  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools

  • Apply varnish and other finishes

  • Match paint samples for touch up

  • Hanging wallpaper when required, trimming edges

  • Cleaning equipment and work area

  • Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

  • At least two years’ work experience in painting is required 

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is a bonus.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
