NK Carriers Limited is looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team in the Auckland region. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced transport environment, coordinating daily freight operations, and ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant delivery services across our network.
Key Duties:
- Manage and oversee daily road freight operations, ensuring all pickups and deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in line with client requirements.
- Plan and coordinate transport schedules, allocate trucks and drivers, and optimise routes to improve operational efficiency.
- Recruit, train, and supervise drivers and operations staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and performance standards.
- Monitor fleet condition, schedule maintenance, and ensure all heavy vehicles comply with NZTA regulations, RUC, WOF/COF, and safety standards.
- Manage operational budgets, including fuel usage, maintenance expenses, and other running costs to support business profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements, including fatigue management, logbook rules, and workplace safety obligations.
- Resolve transport-related issues, including delays, breakdowns, service disruptions, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery accuracy, fleet utilisation, cost control, and service quality.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other industry partners to support ongoing business operations.
- Use transport management systems and GPS tracking tools for route planning, load management, real-time vehicle monitoring, and reporting.
- Prepare operational and financial reports, including scheduling efficiency, fleet performance, incident reports, and cost analysis for management review.
- Carry out additional operational tasks as required to support the smooth and effective running of the transport services.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and you will be paid between $30 to $40 per hour.
Requirements for the Role
- At least 2 years’ experience in logistics or road freight operations.
- Strong coordination and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail in planning and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Weekend availability when required.
