Sidhu Kiwi Limited is seeking an Orchard Assistant Manager to oversee and manage multiple orchard operations across the bay of plenty region. The role requires excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills to ensure all orchard activities are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standard.

Hourly Rate:$33.00 -$36.00 per hour.

Guaranteed hours- 30-50 per week.

Key Responsibilities-

Opearational management

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all orchard operations.
  • review and approve production schedules to ensure completion of all work within set timeframes and quality standards.
  • Monitor worksite performance and ensure supervisors and staff maintain company standards and best horticulture practices.
  • Ensure optimal allocation of labour, machinery, and resources across orchard sites.

Contract and Client Managment

  • Liaise with growers, packhouse, and clients to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
  • Oversee contract planning and performance, reviewing results and ensuring timely delivery of services.
  • Seek new business opportunities, indentify potential clients, and participate in tender submissions to expand company operations.

Leadership and staff supervision

  • Provide Leadership to supervisors, assistant managers, and field teams to achieve daily and seasonal production targets.
  • Oversee recruitment, induction, and performance management of staff.
  • Develop and implement training programmes to ensure staff competency and career development.
  • Promote a positive and safe workplace culture.

Compliance and Health & Safety

  • Ensure all operartions comply with relevant New Zealand employment, health, and safety legislation.
  • Regulalry review safety policies and ensure risk assesments, incidents reporting, and corrective actions are properly followed.

Financial and Administrative Manangement

  • Budgeting, cost control, and financial planning for each orchard site.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, payroll reports, timesheets, and operational costs.
  • Prepare reports on orchard performance, productivity, and resource.

Strategic Planning and Growth

  • Collaborate with the director on business development, long-term planning, and efficiency improvement initiatives,
  • Analyse operational performance  data to indentify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
  • Contribute to marketing and business expansion in strategies across the Bay Of Plenty and wider regions.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience or Level 4 qualification.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Sound understanding of horticulture practices, health and safety, and employment compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites and teams.
  • Full driver's license preferred.
