Log Truck Driver

We are seeking an experienced Driver to join our team.

• This is a permanent role.
• Full-time, with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week
• Monday - Friday with weekend jobs available
• Competitive remuneration $30- $34.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

You will be based in Northland

What you will do

• Operate vehicles and provide transport solutions and freight 
• Drive your assigned vehicle to the locations instructed by the dispatcher safely.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spend driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size weight route designations parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects accidents or violations
• Adhere to health and safety regulation
• Assist with any other tasks as and when required

The successful applicant will

• At least 12 months of relevant and verifiable experience
• An experienced Class 5 Drivers’ licence or equivalent is required
• Flexibility to meet the demands of the operation, including working shift work and spending nights away from home
• Clean driving records and capable of operating a digger and a Hiab-equipped truck
• A dedication to Health & Safety in the workplace
• A proven track record in safety compliance
• Ability to pass a workplace medical exam, including drug and alcohol testing
• You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
