We are a well-established education institute based in Auckland with a diverse student base. We are committed to providing high-quality art education to students of different ages and backgrounds. We are now inviting a professional and passionate Art / Fine Arts Teacher to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach art design and fine arts courses (including painting, drawing, sketching, colour, composition, etc.) to students of different ages and skill levels
  • Integrate art history into teaching to help students build a solid theoretical foundation
  • Develop clear lesson plans and learning objectives
  • Deliver courses in accordance with the school curriculum and policies
  • Create and regularly update high-quality classroom art displays
  • Differentiate instruction according to students’ abilities and learning needs
  • Inspire students’ creativity and interest in art
  • Assign and mark homework, providing constructive feedback
  • Record and track students’ learning progress
  • Communicate with parents about students’ performance and areas for improvement
  • Assist the organisation and students in planning and holding art exhibitions and related activities
  • Collaborate and coordinate art-related teaching and activities with students and teachers from different countries
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional art classroom environment

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in art teaching or relevant work in the art industry
  • A relevant qualification in Fine Arts, Art Design, Pure Art, Art History, or a related field at Level 5 or above (or equivalent)
  • Multilingual ability. In addition to English, the applicant must be able to use Chinese (Mandarin) fluently, as the company has business and students from Greater China

Preferred (Highly Advantageous)

  • Recognised influence or reputation in the art industry, with a professional portfolio
  • Experience of at least three solo exhibitions and participation in group exhibitions, either in New Zealand or overseas

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid foundation in drawing and painting (including sketching, colour, and composition)
  • Good knowledge of art history and related theories
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high teaching standards
  • Able to teach independently as well as work collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner

Location: Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand

Working Hours: 30–50 hours per week
