Canterbury Interior Lining & Finishing Limited seeks a Health and Safety Support Person to assist with compliance records, wellbeing initiatives, and site safety documentation. The role supports safe work practices and worker welfare for plasterboard installation projects in Christchurch.

Position Title: Health and Safety Support Person
Number of Positions: 1
Location: Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $25 – $32 per hour 
Hours of Work: 30 – 35 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience OR Level 2 or 3 qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining health and safety documentation and compliance records.
  • Support site teams by providing safety forms, checklists, and wellbeing resources.
  • Monitor and record PPE usage and ensure availability for workers.
  • Schedule and track staff health and safety inductions and wellbeing sessions.
  • File incident reports and assist with follow-up actions to support worker welfare.
  • Update hazard registers and ensure accessibility on-site.
  • Communicate safety reminders and wellbeing initiatives to staff.
  • Assist in preparing basic reports for management on safety and wellbeing compliance.
  • Ensure signage and safety information is displayed correctly on sites.
  • Provide general administrative support to health and safety and wellbeing functions.
