English Language Teachers (ESOL/PTE Preparation)

The opportunity
Auckland English Academy is seeking experienced English Language Teachers (TESOL) to join our team in our central Auckland campus. As an English Language Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality English language instruction to our diverse student body, helping them develop the language skills needed for success in their studies and future careers. You will also guide our PTE learners to success in our PTE Preparation class.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred General English language lessons that cater to the needs of students at various proficiency levels
• Assess students' language skills and progress, providing regular feedback and support
• Collaborate with other teachers to ensure a consistent and cohesive learning experience
• Maintain accurate student records and provide timely reporting as required
• Contribute to the overall academic and social integration of international students

What we're looking for:

You will have:

• a Cambridge CELTA or an equivalent TESOL qualification
• a CEFR C1 (or higher) level of English
• a Bachelor's or Master's degree in TESOL, English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics or Translation Studies
• Minimum 6 months communicative English language teaching experience in a New Zealand (or similar) context, i.e. mixed nationality adult learners, English-medium instruction, classes of 10-15 students
• Proven classroom experience preparing learners for the Pearson Test of English (PTE test)
• A collaborative and adaptable approach, with a commitment to professional development
• A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of international students
• You will available to work across different timetables as required, including mornings evenings

36 hours per week, including 24 hours of classroom teaching
8:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (as rostered), Monday to Friday
Salary: from $55K-70K
