We are seeking an experienced Commercial Concreter to join our team in South Canterbury/Mackenzie region. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of concrete construction and finishing tasks on commercial and civil projects throughout the Canterbury region.

This is a full-time, permanent position, with minimum 30 hours weekly work is guaranteed. Pay rate $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing work sites and setting out formwork for concrete pours.

  • Placing, spreading, compacting, and finishing concrete to the required specifications and levels.

  • Operating power tools and concrete equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Operating machinery such as laser screeds and trowelling machines to complete concrete finishing tasks on commercial projects.

  • Using knowledge of different concrete mixes, slab types, and basic finishing and curing techniques to ensure work is completed correctly.

  • Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and site specifications.

  • Ensuring work meets quality and health and safety requirements.

  • Assisting with site clean-up and general construction tasks as needed.

  • Working as part of a team to meet project timelines.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant, verifiable work experience in concrete construction and finishing.

  • Proven experience with formwork, concrete placement, and finishing techniques on commercial/civil projects.

  • Ability to operate concrete machinery and tools safely and competently.

  • Strong understanding of site safety and construction standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
