Company Overview

Roskill Sheetmetal Works is a subsidiary of the Roskill Group (roskill.co.nz), a well-
established New Zealand construction and manufacturing group. Roskill Sheetmetal Works
specialises in metal product processing, custom sheet-metal fabrication, and the production and installation of building components.

We have been a long-term supplier to commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and
municipal infrastructure projects, delivering end-to-end services from design support and
fabrication to on-site installation. Our product portfolio includes roofing and cladding
systems, facade assemblies, ventilation and ducting solutions, and a wide range of industrial metal products.

As market competition intensifies and demand grows for more durable, low-carbon, and
innovative construction materials, we are accelerating our shift toward advanced sustainable building solutions. To support this strategy, we are recruiting a Procurement Manager (Innovated Building Materials).

Job Summary

The Procurement Manager (Innovated Building Materials) will lead Roskill Sheetmetal
Works’ global sourcing and procurement of next-generation sustainable building materials.
This role is central to identifying, evaluating, and securing high-performance materials that
are lightweight, energy-efficient, low-maintenance, and environmentally responsible—then
enabling their real-world application in our fabrication, construction, and installation projects.

By introducing world-leading innovative materials into our product and project pipeline, this
position will help reduce manufacturing and installation costs, extend product life cycles, and lower long-term maintenance requirements—strengthening our competitive edge and
supporting Roskill’s sustainable growth vision.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development

  • Identify and build global supply channels for innovative and green building materials,
including high-durability coated metals, eco-composites, recycled-content materials, and energy-saving construction products.
  • Develop long-term supplier partnerships and evaluate suppliers based on technical
capability, sustainability performance, lead time, pricing stability, and compliance.
  • Lead supplier audits, qualification processes, and periodic performance reviews.

Material Evaluation & Technical Procurement

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define technical specifications and performance requirements for new materials.
  • Conduct comparative analysis of materials (cost, durability, environmental impact,
    installation feasibility, lifecycle value).
  • Support pilot trials and scale-up adoption of approved materials into manufacturing and project delivery.

Procurement & Cost Optimization

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle: forecasting, tendering, negotiation,
contracting, ordering, logistics coordination, and inventory control.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to lower total cost of ownership while maintaining quality
    and delivery reliability.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing, material substitution, and
    process optimisation.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide procurement leadership for commercial, industrial, and municipal construction
    projects.
  • Align procurement planning with project schedules and risk controls to ensure
    uninterrupted production and site installation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operations, designers, site managers, and finance.

Sustainability &Compliance

  • Ensure procurement practices meet Roskill’s sustainability goals, including reduced
carbon footprint, waste minimisation, and responsible sourcing.
  • Monitor regulatory standards and industry trends related to sustainable/innovative
    construction materials.
Maintain procurement documentation and ensure full compliance with quality, health & safety, and ESG requirements.

Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in supply chain, materials science, building materials,
or related fields (Advanced research skills strongly preferred).
  • Proven ability to apply construction material knowledge into procurement decisions,
including supplier selection, specification setting, and real-project application.
  • Strong project management capability, able to align sourcing with
construction/manufacturing timelines and control procurement risks.
  • Excellent supplier negotiation, contract management, and cross-functional
    communication skills.
  • High level of analytical ability for cost–performance modelling and value engineering.
  • Fluent English communication (written and spoken); bilingual capability is a strong
    advantage.
