🚢 Fitter| Full-Time | Canterbury

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to support our crew in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all vessel machinery and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Chief Engineer in carrying out maintenance and repair work

  • Carry out and attend all iron plating and fitting work on board 
  • Fabricate, assembly, installation, repair structure and machanical systems 
  • Review blueprint, cut, shape, fit, metal plates, frames and equipment using tools 
  • Work in demanding conditions with physical activity and height
  • Assist engineers with repairs and overhauls
  • Servicing and overhauling mechanical equipment, engines, and accessories
  • Ensure smooth operation of propulsion systems, engines, pumps, generators 
  • Adhere to strict safety and environmental requirements 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role on commercial vessels

  • Strong knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment

  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills

  • Willing to travel and be away from home
