The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing outcomes. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of processes and equipment.
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week (Monday- Thursday; shift work required)
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and prepare production machines for daily operation
- Operate machinery and adjust settings to maintain optimal performance
- Load raw materials and ensure continuous, efficient production flow
- Monitor machine operation and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Conduct regular quality checks and record production data accurately
- Troubleshoot minor machine faults and report recurring or major issues
- Assist with routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Identify and suggest improvements to equipment, workflow, and product quality
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing or production environment
- No formal qualifications required; on-the-job training will be provided
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is an advantage
