We are looking for a motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative R&D team designing products from concept through to production. You will be working collaboratively with a team of dynamic design engineers in solving complex issues, with creative, innovative, and out-of-the-box thinking
This is a permanent full-time role with guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with clients, coordinating resources, and ensuring projects run smoothly, safely, on time and within budget.
What You’ll Do
- Generating and understanding product specifications.
- Providing concept sketches/models/drawings for new products based on specifications.
- Ensuring products are designed for manufacture and fit for purpose.
- Plan, conduct and document testing of products.
- Ability to identify and mitigate areas of risk.
- Constructively peer review the design team's work.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching other engineers.
- Continuous improvement of engineering processes
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in the mechanical field
- Relevant experience 3 years or more experience
- Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
- Sound understanding of the legislative framework, standards and best practice methodology that apply to project management and audit issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive, can-do approach and willingness to learn.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Experience with FEA.
- Experience or knowledge of CFD techniques is desirable.
- Experience with optics is desirable.
