GSE Mechanic/Technician needed for a fulltime role starting asap
The Technician, GSE Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of ground support vehicles and equipment used in aviation operations. This role ensures that all hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery functions effectively, meeting safety, compliance, and operational efficiency standards within Unilode’s MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Maintenance and Repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
Customer Focus, Collaborate
- Repair and service ground support equipment, including loaders, forklifts, GPUs, pushback tugs, stairs, ramps, passenger lifting devices, tow tractors, baggage carts, buses, trucks, and service vans.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections to assess whether repairs or replacements are needed.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to resolve equipment malfunctions.
Ensure Compliance and Operational Safety

- Adhere to aviation safety protocols and equipment maintenance regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised repair shop.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs and service records for all GSE repairs and inspections.
Supprt Preventative Maintenance and Inventory Management
Ensure Accountability, Drive Results
- Develop and follow scheduled maintenance plans for all ground support vehicles.
- Track and manage inventory of parts, tools, and consumables required for maintenance.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are kept in working condition and calibrated regularly.
This role requires physical activity, including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy components. Shift flexibility may be required to accommodate operational demands, including evenings and weekends. Strict adherence to health, safety, and security regulations is essential.
Skills and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in GSE maintenance, automotive mechanics, or heavy equipment repair preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is an advantage.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical documents.
