We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our manufacturing operation in Auckland. This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week. The role oversees daily production activities at our milk powder and health supplements factory, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Day-to-day work may include, but is not limited to:

  • Planning, organising, and supervising daily production operations to meet output, quality, and delivery targets

  • Coordinating production schedules, labour allocation, and workflow to ensure efficient use of plant, equipment, and materials

  • Monitoring production processes to ensure compliance with food safety standards and relevant regulatory requirements

  • Managing raw materials, packaging materials, and inventory levels to avoid production delays or wastage

  • Overseeing equipment operation and maintenance in collaboration with technical and maintenance teams to minimise downtime

  • Identifying production issues, analysing operational data, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensuring workplace health and safety policies are followed, and risks are identified, controlled, and reported

  • Training, supervising, and motivating production staff to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards

  • Liaising with senior management on production performance, resource requirements, and operational improvements

  • Preparing production reports, forecasts, and documentation related to output, costs, quality, and efficiency

The successful candidate should ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. food science, manufacturing, engineering, or operations management) or at least five years of relevant production management experience

  • Experience in food, dairy, milk powder, or health supplement manufacturing is highly desirable

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and meet production targets

  • Sound knowledge of health & safety, food safety, and quality management systems

  • Ability to analyse production data and implement practical operational improvements

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with management and production staff

  • A high level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability

  • Honest, reliable, and well presented

  • Willingness to comply with company policies, including health, safety, and drug-free workplace requirements
