Liquorland Whangamata Ltd T/A Liquorland Whangamata is proudly NZ Local Operated business. We have store manager position for someone who is proactive, driven and enjoys working with & developing a great team of people. 

How you will spend your days:

You will be managing store operations including staff management, stock control, business development, liquor law Complaince along with the day to day running of other retail operation within store. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career, with full support from Business Owner as we grow and develop our business. Reporting directly to Director/Owner of the business.

  • Strictly enforce Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
  • Manage and motivate your team to increase sales and ensure efficiency.
  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, inducting, and training employees. 
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, stock control, and stock tracking. 
  • Strategically plan the promotion of the business at a local level so that maximum customers can be attracted. 
  • Daily cash reconciliation, petty cash, and banking. 
  • Ensuring staff providing exceptional customer service throughout the store. 
  • Develop, execute, and manage merchandising programs for the store. 
  • Ensure staff comply with Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain security controls - cash, keys, alarms, and stock. 
  • Ensure the business and staff Comply with Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all customer inquiries and complaints handled efficiently and in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a retail, Preferred if within liquor retail.
  • Able to work late evenings and weekends. Thursday to Monday working week. 
  • Must hold a valid Liquor Manager’s certificate with previous experience in liquor retail. 
  • Must have sound understanding of product range within liquor industry such as spirits, wine, and rtds.
  • Must be able to manage Business online sales and digital operations. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen.
  • Physically fit as work involve manual handling. 
  • Clean full driving license as work involve deliveries to our customers. 
  • Preferably a candidate with completed retail sales training programme.
  • Forklift operating experience preferred; right candidate will be provided opportunity to have F endorsement certification.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.

What you need to know? 

  • This is a fulltime role 30 hours minimum; Business may require working additional hours in summer season.
  • Competitive Hourly Rate $29.70 to $30.90 based on experience and industry knowledge.
