Pay Rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on skills and experience)

Location: Hastings, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand

About the Role

We are seeking four experienced Cool Store Managers to support our growing horticulture operations in Hastings. These roles are critical to managing cool store operations, ensuring accurate inventory control, maintaining food safety standards, and coordinating product storage and dispatch to meet domestic and export requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the receipt, storage, rotation (FIFO), and dispatch of fruit bins

• Monitor cool store temperatures and conditions to maintain product quality

• Maintain accurate records for stock levels, bin movements, and documentation

• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Quality, BRCGS, MPI, and MAO requirements

• Coordinate with packhouse, logistics, and transport teams for load-outs and dispatch

• Operate forklifts safely for bin handling

• Manage non-conforming product control procedures

• Conduct stocktakes and reconcile inventory records

• Promote strong health & safety and food safety practices

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

• Previous experience in cool store, packhouse, or horticulture operations

• Forklift licence and practical forklift operating experience

• Strong computer skills, including inventory systems and basic reporting tools

• Good communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure during peak seasons

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Relevant experience and/or relevant qualifications will be advantageous
