This is a crucial support role that works closely with our Licensed Electricians on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Responsibilities:

Assisting Licensed Electricians:
-
Working directly under the supervision of a Licensed Electrician, assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair work across various sites.

Cable and Conduit Installation:
-
Assisting with running and pulling cables, installing cable tray, and fitting conduit systems as directed.

Rough-In and Fit-Off:
-
Preparing sites for electrical work (rough-in) and assisting with the final installation of fittings, fixtures, and appliances (fit-off).

Tool and Equipment Management:
-
Ensuring all tools, equipment, and materials are safely and correctly organised, maintained, and readily available for the team.

Site Preparation and Cleanup:
-
Maintaining a tidy, safe, and organised work environment, including general cleanup and rubbish removal.

Materials Handling:
-
Receiving, checking, loading, and transporting materials and equipment to and from the workshop and various job sites.

Inventory Management:
-
Assisting with checking stock levels, organising the workshop, and ensuring vehicles are appropriately stocked for the day's tasks.

Running Errands:
-
Collecting necessary parts and supplies from local suppliers as required.

Adhering to Safety Protocols:
-
Strictly following all company and site-specific Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Spotting/Observation:
-
Assisting with hazard identification and providing observation support during critical tasks.
-
Requirements and Skills:
-
At least one year of relevant work experience working in the electrical industry.
-
A current or previous holder of an Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Limited Scope or Trainee Restricted Certificate (formerly Practising Licence) is a significant advantage, but not required.

Current Site Safe and/or First Aid certificate, an advantage, but not required.
-
Ownership of a basic set of hand tools is an advantage, but not required.

Proven record of punctuality, reliability, and a strong commitment to work.

Strong ability to use hand and power tools accurately and safely, including proficiency in measuring and cutting.

Ability to read and understand basic assembly instructions, component lists, and simple technical drawings.
-
Must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, working at heights (ladders/scaffolding), and standing for extended periods.
-
A proven commitment to workplace safety and following instructions precisely.
-
Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively relay information and instructions.
-
Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
-
Must be an NZ Citizen, NZ Resident, or eligible to work in NZ.
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time, permanent role, and the hourly pay rate ranges between NZ$25 and NZ$35, depending on experience. The work hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 70 hours per week, to be worked between Monday and Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
