The Role:
Propellerhead seeks a bold and curious Software Developer to join our core service delivery team. This is an Auckland-based position which will require both working from home and working in the office. This is a permanent full time position, with 40 hours per week guaranteed, you must be based in Auckland, New Zealand.
You will be designing and building interesting and challenging software products for our customers. Your team will consist of like-minded software craftspeople and will operate with a degree of autonomy seldom experienced in other organisations.
We are looking for someone who will enthusiastically help our customers move into the next generation of the internet (Web3), with an interest in blockchain, AI, edge computing and/or self-sovereignty of data and identity.
Salary range (per annum): $87,000 - $110,000 dependent on experience.
Responsibilities:

Feature and application implementation
-
Implementing solutions from user stories and designs.

Breaking down stories into technical tasks with Analysts.
-
Ensuring deliverables are production-ready.

Applying Engineering standards and practices.

Reviewing working software with Analysts for internal demos; Product Owners lead client-facing demos.

Collaborating with Analysts to identify risks and define mitigations using the Engineering risk framework.
Skills and Experience Required:
-
A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience as a Software Developer

Experience in software design for architecture with separate but interdependent components.

You can produce clear and concise design documents.
-
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate between requirements and technical tasks.

Must have experience using .NET/ C# & React frameworks

Must be AWS certified

Must have previous experience with the following skills: CI/CD, Rest API, Test Driven Development, Docker & Containers

Implementing user stories and working closely with product owners

Past experience with client demos

Backlog estimation and planning

Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher
Preferred Tech stack Experience:

Experience in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js or similar front-end frameworks.

Hands-on experience deploying to Azure and/or AWS.

Previous experience with Go and Rust is advantageous
