We are looking for a full time Operations Manager in Hawke's Bay region under S&B Haulage operations. The position requires an energetic person who can handle team of drivers. You will be required to work between Monday-Friday for minimum 30 hours to maximum 50 hours which includes few hours on Saturdays (if needed). We are a friendly team of dedicated people to provide outstanding services and products to society.
Role responsibilities:
- Responsible for Managing staff, organise driver cover at short notice if drivers are sick to make sure all runs are completed
- Responsible for organising the purchase and maintenance of vehicles and other equipment.
- Assess runs and identify improvements by understanding driver feedback to get the best route management possible
- Hold driver meetings, work with drivers and overcome barriers to success if they need your support
- Oversee smooth training and provide feedback to ensure runs are completed within guidelines
- Responsible for HR, Administration which includes (training, rosters)
- Responsible for liaising with drivers, contractors and clients to determine requirements and handling complaints.
- Responsible for maintaining business records and preparing reports.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Job Requirements:
· To be successful you must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience or Level 5 Diploma or higher qualification (Subject Area Flexible)
· Must be physically fit
· Must have good staff management skills, a can-do attitude, be mature, handle pressure, be good at multi-tasking, accurate, be honest and reliable and be dedicated to the job.
· A positive attitude and great work ethic
· Zero Tolerance of alcohol and drugs in the workplace
· Clean Character Background
Salary can be negotiated as per your experience level between $30 to $38 per hour.
