Maintenance Technician

Location - Christchurch
Normal Days and hours: 8am to 4:30, Mon – Fri, minimum 40 hours per week. 

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine/preventive and reactive maintenance on all machinal aspects of the plant including inspections and the completion of relevant paperwork in a safe and efficient manner
• Attend machine breakdowns on site and effect repairs to ensure minimum down time
• Follow all safety and environmental rules are followed including compliance with PPE requirements, method statements and risk assessments
• Trouble shoot, and fault find any defects on plant and tools and carry out repairs as necessary
• Reduce direct and consequential damage resulting from plant failure
• Ensure JSA’s and work permits are issued and/or acquired when required 

Key Attributes

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in machine maintenance experience
• Ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools
• Trade qualification in Mechanical/engineering/fitter turning (or similar) is beneficial but not required
• Proven mechanical or electrical aptitude
• Flexible, reliable and customer focused. Communicate effectively with the wider team and operate in a respectful and supportive manner.
• Ability to undertake manual handling tasks and work in confined spaces

You must:

• Have at least 2 contactable references
• Ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen test.
• Return a clear or satisfactory police report 

The role is based out of our Christchurch Factory. This position provides a competitive remuneration in the wage range of $30.00 to $36.00 per hour and health insurance. All candidates will be expected to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen test along with satisfactorily passing a medical and criminal history check. Applications Close 5 January 2026
