We are looking for Thai Cooks to join our team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience OR

  • A minimum of NZ Register Level 4 qualification, which may substitute for experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR

  • The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook or Thai Chef) from Thailand AND

  • Knowledge of Thai food ingredients

Job Descriptions

  • Inspect vegetables, meats, seafood, and herbs to ensure freshness and high quality.

  • Monitor and adjust temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Thai dishes, including curries, stir-fries, soups, salads, and desserts.

  • Taste and season dishes during cooking to achieve the correct balance of flavours.

  • Portion, plate, and present food attractively, finishing with appropriate sauces, gravies, and garnishes.

  • Store ingredients and prepared food safely in refrigerators, freezers, and other temperature-controlled areas.

  • Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free.

  • Assist with menu planning and estimating food quantities and ordering when required.

  • Provide guidance and training to other kitchen staff or apprentices as needed.

Other detail

• This is a full-time and permanent position

• Wage payment ranges from $27 to $35 per hour, depending on your skills and experience

•You will be paid weekly

• Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law

• You will be working at 51 Commercial Street, Takaka

• You will work for 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours) according to a roster 5 - 6 days each week
