Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience OR
-
A minimum of NZ Register Level 4 qualification, which may substitute for experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR
-
The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook or Thai Chef) from Thailand AND
-
Knowledge of Thai food ingredients
Job Descriptions

Inspect vegetables, meats, seafood, and herbs to ensure freshness and high quality.

Monitor and adjust temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.

Prepare and cook a variety of Thai dishes, including curries, stir-fries, soups, salads, and desserts.

Taste and season dishes during cooking to achieve the correct balance of flavours.

Portion, plate, and present food attractively, finishing with appropriate sauces, gravies, and garnishes.

Store ingredients and prepared food safely in refrigerators, freezers, and other temperature-controlled areas.

Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free.
-
Assist with menu planning and estimating food quantities and ordering when required.

Provide guidance and training to other kitchen staff or apprentices as needed.
Other detail
• This is a full-time and permanent position
• Wage payment ranges from $27 to $35 per hour, depending on your skills and experience
•You will be paid weekly
• Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law
• You will be working at 51 Commercial Street, Takaka
• You will work for 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours) according to a roster 5 - 6 days each week
