Position Purpose
The Bookkeeper plays a key role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for Hariyogi Foods NZ Ltd. The position supports day-to-day financial operations, including transaction recording, payroll, reconciliations, inventory cost tracking, and financial reporting.
This role is particularly important in a manufacturing and wholesale environment, with a focus on supplier payments for raw materials, tracking production-related costs, and recording sales of finished goods. The Bookkeeper supports management decision-making by ensuring financial data is accurate, compliant, and timely.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Transaction Processing: Manage and maintain accurate financial records for the business.
• Bank & Account Reconciliation: Process and reconcile daily sales transactions
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit timely financial reports to management
• Inventory Control: Monitor and track inventory levels and costs
• AP and AR control: Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Compliance & Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations, provide support during tax preparation and audits
• Budget Support: Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Coordinating: Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and insights
• Stay updated with industry trends and changes in accounting practices.
Requirements
• Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience working as an Accountant or Bookkeeper in a wholesale and/or manufacturing environment is preferred
• Familiarity with inventory costing and supplier payment processes
• Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines, and maintain financial compliance
• Experience using accounting software and maintaining organised financial records
