XCIX Company Limited trading as FEMA Accountants is a well-established professional services firm providing accounting, audit, tax, and business advisory services to a diverse range of clients including SMEs, property investors, trading companies, and growing enterprises across New Zealand.
Due to sustained growth in our advisory practice, we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Business Adviser to join our team. The Business Adviser is responsible for analysing and evaluating client organisations’ business operations, management practices, financial performance, and strategic direction, and for developing and implementing recommendations to improve efficiency, profitability, governance, and long-term sustainability. The role involves working closely with business owners, directors, and senior management to deliver independent, objective, and evidence-based management consulting services.
This is a permanent full-time position, and you will be working for at least 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday during regular business hours. Your key responsibilities are:

Investigate, analyse, and evaluate client organisations’ business structures, management systems, workflows, and operational performance

Conduct detailed reviews of financial and non-financial data to assess organisational efficiency, cost structures, profitability, and risk exposure

Identify operational, strategic, and management inefficiencies and develop practical improvement strategies

Advise clients on business restructuring, organisational design, governance frameworks, and management controls

Prepare and present strategic business plans, operational improvement plans, and implementation roadmaps

Develop financial models, budgets, forecasts, and performance measurement frameworks to support strategic decision-making

Provide advice on change management, process re-engineering, and system improvements

Assist clients with business expansion, market entry, growth strategies, and performance optimisation

Prepare formal management consulting reports, board papers, and executive presentations outlining findings and recommendations

Support clients during the implementation of approved recommendations and monitor outcomes

Liaise with client stakeholders including directors, senior managers, financial institutions, and external advisers

Maintain professional independence and confidentiality while acting as a trusted adviser
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

At least a Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline OR
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in management consulting, business advisory, or professional services

Demonstrated experience in analysing organisational performance and delivering management improvement recommendations

Strong knowledge of business operations, corporate governance, and strategic planning

Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills

Ability to interpret complex financial and operational information and convert it into actionable advice

Ability to manage multiple consulting engagements and meet deadlines
