Hope Construction is a leading construction company based in Auckland, dedicated to excellence, quality workmanship, and innovation. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are seeking three skilled and reliable Roofers to join our team.

This is a permanent, full-time position; you are required to work at least 30 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain roofs using materials such as metal, tiles, shingles, and membrane roofing systems

  • Interpret building plans, specifications, and site measurements to determine roofing requirements

  • Assist with the erection, adjustment, and dismantling of basic scaffolding required for roofing works, under site supervision and in accordance with site safety plans

  • Conduct pre-use safety checks of scaffolds, platforms, edge protection, and access systems before commencing roofing tasks

  • Ensure scaffolding is secure, level, and suitable for roofing activities and report any defects or hazards immediately

  • Work safely on scaffolds, guardrails, and elevated work platforms while maintaining fall-prevention measures at all times

  • Measure, cut, and shape roofing materials to fit structures accurately

  • Apply waterproofing and insulation materials to ensure weather resistance

  • Safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery used in roofing work

  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times on construction sites

Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least a relevant qualification at NZQA Level 4 OR

  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in the field of construction, scaffolding, and roofing is preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans

  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

  • Good time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team
