Roading Construction Operators


We are looking for talented Roading Operators who have the skills and knowledge  to join teams around the country.
We need you to add value to the current teams , don't just be a follower, step up to the challenge to get all jobs completed to high standards in the time frames allowed.

We need:
  • Plant Operation: Operating pavers, rollers, compactors, graders, and bitumen sprayers.
  • Material Knowledge: Understanding asphalt, bitumen, and aggregate properties.
  • Site Preparation: Digging, grading, and preparing surfaces for paving.
  • Finishing & Smoothing: Achieving correct levels and smooth finishes with screeds and hand tools.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing basic operator maintenance on machinery.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring asphalt application meets job specifications and quality standards. 
Health And Safety in NZ is very important
  • Knowledge of hazards, working with hot materials, and site safety procedures.
  • Traffic Management: Controlling traffic flow and working safely in live traffic.
  • First Aid: Competence in first aid for site incidents. 
Alongside we require:
  • Physical Fitness: Strength and stamina for demanding, physical work.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Working effectively with colleagues, communicating plans, and getting along well.
  • Problem-Solving: Adapting to site challenges and ensuring smooth operations. 
Qualifications or detailed experience:
  • NZQA qualifications (like Level 2/3 Certificates in Bitumen Surfacing) are key, covering these skills and providing industry-recognised certification.
  • Driver's licenses (Class 1, WTR endorsements) and relevant site-safe certifications are often required.
