Superior Doors Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance and Reliability Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all machinery and maintenance staff on site. Success will be measured by the direct and visible impact on machine uptime, production stability, and overall business performance.

Superior Doors Limited is New Zealand’s leading manufacturer of interior doors. We operate a large scale, state-of-the-art door manufacturing facility with highly complex, automated machinery. The reliability of this equipment is the heartbeat of our operation. We are seeking a true change agent to become our new Maintenance & Reliability Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Your primary goal is to ensure the optimal reliability and performance of all production machinery and facility assets.
  • Construction, modification, ongoing performance, and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery
  • Develops maintenance planning strategies, and schedules, coordinates and monitors the maintenance of all plant equipment
  • Lead an experienced team of internal and external mechanical and electrical engineers.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting manufacturing and production challenges to ensure rapid and effective solutions.
  • Contributing to Superior Doors goal of manufacturing products using sustainable materials and processes.
  • Keep up with industry trends and technological advancements, continually seeking new ideas and improvements to boost product quality, efficiency, and overall user experience.
  • Participating in relevant industry bodies.
  • Preparing and conducting internal and external presentations regarding the performance of the maintenance team, achievement of objectives, potential new initiatives, relevant standards, certifications or other industry requirements.
  • Assisting with the introduction of ERP and other software systems to the business.
  • Continuously improving systems and processes.
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management position; or a relevant trade qualification, diploma, or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a high-pressure, complex manufacturing environment (e.g., woodworking, FMCG, packaging, heavy industrial).
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully implementing and managing preventative maintenance (PM) programs and utilising a CMMS.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and root cause analysis skills on complex electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.#
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience in performance management, including coaching and disciplinary action.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report complex technical information clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience.
  • Resilient, tenacious, and results-oriented with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Must be a NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.

The successful applicants will work and need to report at 70 Hunua Road, Papakura, Auckland

This is a full-time permanent role, and the salary is between NZ$100,000 to $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 45 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 6 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
