Description:

Dhillon Builder Ltd is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team in Auckland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, assembling, installing, and repairing wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings in residential or commercial areas. The role requires reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure work is carried out accurately and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct, erect, install, and repair wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings in buildings and other structures.

  • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.

  • Install doors, windows, cabinets, partitions, floorings, and other building components.

  • Join timber and other materials using nails, screws, dowels, adhesives, or other fastening methods.

  • Maintain and repair existing wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings as required.

  • Ensure work complies with design specifications, quality standards, and building codes.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition.

  • Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations on construction sites.

  • Coordinate with other tradespeople, site supervisors, and clients to complete projects on time and to required standards.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Competence in measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining timber and other building materials.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Knowledge of safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.

  • Understanding of building codes, standards, and construction techniques.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
