A truck driver in this position is responsible for the timely delivery of goods from one location to another, potentially with stops during the journey. The driver will be responsible for the product during the journey and will oversee the loading and unloading processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive vehicle combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures
  • Hook and unhook trailers from prime movers or lead trailers (B doubles) including manoeuvring into place
  • Load and unload trailer either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment
  • Delivering hot mix to various locations
  • Milling onsite
  • Check fuel/oil are up to date
  • Check vehicle maintenance before driving e.g. tyre levels etc
  • Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight
  • Inspect Truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips
  • Submit pre-trip inspections and if required Vehicle Defect reports on truck and trailing equipment prior to commencing shift
  • Ensure that all load documentation required to move with freight is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies freight when delivered
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations

Work Requirement:

Have at least 2 years relevant work experience. Must have class 5 drivers license.

Hours: Minimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week.

Work Schedule: 8:00am to 5:00pm (Monday to Friday), 9:00am to 5:00pm (Saturday)

Hourly rate or Salary band: $34.00 to $37.00
