YARD MANAGER – OTAHUHU BRANCH

As a Yard Manager, the duties for your position that you will perform are set out below, together with other duties which we may require you to do from time to time in response to any business needs:

• Handle full yard operations
• Ensure yard is always kept clean and tidy
• Ensure proper storage of vehicles, depending on weather conditions
• Ensure safety and security measures are always in place at the yard
• Work closely with sales and admin team in regards to finance applications.
• Managing costs and overhead and all factors affecting business performance at your site.
• Make decisions on selection of vehicles as per market demand
• Receive deliveries and make sure that the correct supply of cars received as per order.
• Establishing and promoting goods and services.
• Keeping records of stock at the yard
• Handle any customer complaints and queries and take immediate steps to resolve the issue
• Make orders to the suppliers on customer’s demand / when the stock is on low
• Liaise with suppliers offshore in regards to stock and pricing
• Coordinate with compliance centres on arrival of vehicles and ensure the vehicle meets New Zealand legal requirements
• Work closely with suppliers regarding shipping and arrival dates at the port and the yard
• Always possess leadership skills and supervise staff
• Review yard operating hours to maximise business operation
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
• Report to director regarding any major concerns
• Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volume to maximize profits
• Ensuring standards of quality, customer service and promotion of the products within the yard
• Training and supervising of new staff and monitoring of their work performance.
• Ensure Health and Safety requirements are in place at all the time.

You must have:

• At least two years of relevant industry experience especially in a car yard
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to work flexibly during the week, must be available in the weekends and public holidays (between Monday–Sunday, between 9:00 AM–6:00 PM)
• A clean full NZ driver license is compulsory

You will be paid $30 to $34 per hour gross and guaranteed 30 hours minimum per week.
