About Role

We are looking for two reliable and motivated painters to join our team, working on a variety of residential and commercial painting projects. These are full-time, permanent positions based in South Auckland, offering a guaranteed minimum of 35 hours per week with the potential for overtime. The total hours, including any overtime, will not exceed 45 hours per week.

The pay rate ranges from $30 to $31 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure the work area by following Health and Safety regulations and in house safety plans
  • Conduct safety checks before starting work to ensure the area is safe for everyone
  • Safely use ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
  • Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
  • selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
  • applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
  • hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
  • cleaning equipment and work areas after finishing work

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of painting tools and painting techniques
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety and experience in using ladders
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
