Roofer

Auckland Roofing Contractors Limited, specializing in roofing material installation, is seeking multiple Roofers to join its team in the Auckland region. The ideal candidates will be detail- oriented, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

The role involves travel within the Auckland region and occasionally to nearby regions, with all travel and fuel costs covered by the employer.

Key Duties include:

• Install new roofing systems using metal, tile, membrane, and other approved roofing materials in accordance with project specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and fix roofing materials to ensure accurate fit, weather tightness, and structural integrity.
• Install and secure roofing components including underlays, battens, insulation, flashings, cappings, saddles (crickets), and weatherproof junctions.
• Fit, repair, and replace gutters, rainheads, downpipes, and associated stormwater components to ensure effective water management.
• Install chimney cowls and roof penetrations, ensuring correct airflow, weather protection, and compliance with building standards.
• Identify, diagnose, and repair roof leaks, damaged roofing sections, and faulty drainage or flashing systems.
• Carry out re-roofing, maintenance, and remedial works on residential and commercial buildings.
• Apply waterproofing systems, sealants, and protective coatings to prevent water ingress and extend roof lifespan.
• Ensure all roofing work complies with the New Zealand Building Code, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
• Safely operate roofing tools, machinery, and access equipment, including working at heights in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Follow site safety plans, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe and tidy work area at all times.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, builders, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and to specification.

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $27 to $35 per hour.

Other requirements for the role:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or a level 4 qualification in roofing, construction, or related trade.
• Hardworking, reliable, and committed to quality workmanship.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks required on-site, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
• Available to work on weekends and flexible to meet project schedules.
