Stour Rentals New Zealand Travel Agency is one of New Zealand’s leading travel agencies, specialising in inbound and personalised travel experiences. We work closely with local and overseas tourism partners to deliver high-quality, tailored tour services across New Zealand.

We are currently seeking two Bookkeepers to join our team.

Job description:

  • Maintain accurate daily financial records using computerized accounting systems, including income, expenses and transaction details, in accordance with company policies and New Zealand regulatory requirements.

  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable with New Zealand–based tourism businesses, including attractions, tour operators, transport providers and accommodation suppliers, and follow up outstanding payments.

  • Liaise with China-based online travel agencies and overseas tourism partners to reconcile booking statements, commissions and settlement records, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review and issue invoices and purchase orders, and assist with processing bank deposits, transfers and other payments.

  • Perform regular account and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between accounting records and bank statements.

  • Monitor company cash flow and assist with managing funds for tourism projects and daily operations.

  • Assist with processing employee wages and expense claims, including payments for casual staff such as tour guides, drivers and contract personnel.

  • Verify financial transactions, investigate discrepancies and unusual items, compile cost and revenue data, assist with financial reports and budgets, support GST record keeping, and report irregularities to management as required.

What We Offer:

  • Job location: You will be based in Christchurch.

  • Employment type: Permanet full-time position with a minimum of 30 hours per
    week.

  • Salary:  NZ$30 - NZ$35 per hour, depending on experience and eligibility.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A Level 4 relevant qualification or above.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is preferred, as part of the role involves financial reconciliation and communication with China-based online travel agencies and tourism partners.
