NZ Placer Mining Limited is seeking an experienced Mining Exploration Engineer to support alluvial mining operations across the Tasman Region. This role involves planning and conducting engineering and geological surveys, evaluating mineral deposits and designing safe, efficient and commercially viable extraction methods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan and lead geological and engineering surveys for alluvial mining sites
- Conduct feasibility studies and reserve evaluations
- Design and oversee drilling and sampling programmes, including QA/QC
- Use Micromine, Surpac and QGIS for geological modelling and mine planning
- Analyse and interpret drilling data using advanced analytical tools (Phthon/SQL)
- Prepare technical reports to support mine development decisions
- Maintain accurate geological and engineering databases
- Supervise junior staff and oversee plant and machinery reliability
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work legislation and Worksafe requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
- Degree or certificate in Mining, Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
- OR Minimum 3 years relevant mining exploration or mine planning experience
- Strong analytical and data modelling skills
- Experience with industry-standard geological software
HOURS : Minimum guaranteed of 35 hours per week
HOURLY RATE OR SALARY BAND : $ 32.00 - $ 55.00 per hour
